His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, His Majesty the King's Representative, had presided over the opening ceremony of the 15th National Jamboree at the Vajiravudh Camp, Siracha,Chonburi at 17 00hrs

The Jamboree under the theme "Scouting for Spirit, Discipline and Anti-drugs" is organised to pay tribute to His Majesty King Bhumiphol, the Chief Scout, as well as to celebrate the 72nd birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Petcharat, the Royal Patron of Thai Scouting. The objectives are to provide scouts and cultural activities. Better understanding, morality, discipline, peace and unity are expected to be achieved. Over 10,000 scouts, girl scouts and girl guides are participating in the event to be held during November 21-27, 1997 at Vajiravudh Camp, Sriracha, Chonburi.

OPENING ADDRESS BY THE HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS CROWN PRINCE MAHA VAJIRALONGKORN AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 15TH NATIONAL JAMBOREE AT VAJIRAVUDH CAMP, SRIRACHA, CHONBURI ON FIRDAY NOVEMBER 21,1997.

His Majesty the King has graciously designated me to be His Majesty's representative me to be His Majesty over the Opening Ceremony of the 15th National Jamboree. It is my great pleasure to be able to take part in this very special event that provides a great opportunity for both local and overseas scouts to participate in various knowledgable and skillful activities.

Scouting was created in order to bring youth to work together. This will help create well-rounded and capable citizensfor peaceful society as well as peaceful global community. All scouts should be conscious on this matter and put all of your efforts on your duties. Hence scouts from all over the kingdom as well as from foreign countries are here to be trained, to work together and to share same vision, i would like all of you to cherish every moment that we from now will spend together, get acquainted, exchange ideas, tighten bonds of friendship and encourage better understanding. This result in national and global unity which is our ultimate goal.

In the name of His Majesty the King, I now delcare the 15th National Jamboree opened. May all your deliberations be blessed with success and achieve objectives. I wish all participants for their well-bring as well as for their success.
