Venue : Vajiravudh camp,Sriracha,Chonburi 120 km from Bangkok International Airport along the eastern coast.

We will like to extend our appreciation to our school principal, Mrs Molly Tan and our Scouts Mistress, Mrs Whey for allowing two specially chosen scouts from our Scouts Troop to participate the 15th National Jamboree, Thailand. The Jamboree was officially opened on the 21st of November 1997 and closed on the 27th of November 1997.Over 10,000 scouts and girl guides had participated this mammoth event.

A total of 36 scouts were chosen from various schools to form up the Singapore Scouts Contigent to represent Singapore to attend the jamboree. The contigent was lead by Mr Edmond Tan, assistant South Area commissioner.

There are scouts from 9 countries participating in the 15th National Jamboree at Vajiravudh Camp,Sriracha,Chonburi,during November 21-27.1997.These included 41 scouts and scout leaders from Malaysia,16 from Pakistan,6 from Nepal,3 each from Hong Kong and Taiwan,2 from Bangladesh as well as Sweden and 1 from India.We are residing at sub-camp 19 near the Clock Tower.

Rationale

The National Jamborees have been organized every four years to pay homage to His Majesty King Vajiravudh ,the Founder of Thai Scouting as well as to pay tribute to His Majesty King Bhumiphol ,the Cheif Scout of Thailand .It will be a great opportunity for scouts to spend valuable time and participate in various activities together ;namely .skill improvement ,knowledge development ,ethic and discipline enhancement ,cutural exchange ,drug prevention and peace promtion activities.

Symbol

A symbol of National Scout Organization inside the oval frame represents scouts' anti-drug campaingn .The three spires symbolize improvement .The blue spire represents loyalty to H.M the King,the Cheif Scout .The red one represents harmony .teamwork and discipline while the yellow one stands for morality .The symbol is designed by Assistant Commissior Put Saignam of the National Scout Council.
